I know that most people are only interested in the predictions, but for the last few days I have been focusing on the architecture of this blog. I won’t give you a long story about what I’m learning about web site design, but I am trying to make this site easier to navigate. Here are some of the new features that you can find in the right hand column:
The Tracker Pages
The Tracker Pages in the upper right hand corner have been reorganized to make it easier for you to find my predictions for the smaller categories. It also means that you won’t have to scroll down as far on each page in order to see predictions for future years.
Predicted Winners (for all years)
Immediately under the Tracker pages, you can now see the predicted winners for all categories and all years through 2017. Some of these probably aren’t very accurate at the moment, but I decided that it was better to get the architecture in place first, and go back and fix the predictions as I go along.
Ways To Follow Me
You can now follow me through blogger, google friends and twitter. All the links are there.
Sites I Love (Everything A Budding Oscar Predictor Needs)
As previously announced, this is a list of my favorite sites around the web.
Blog Archive
In case you want to look up my past predictions.
One unfortunate impact of the changes I made to the Tracker pages is that the computer wanted to delete all of the comments that people had made on those pages. But don’t fear! I have copied those discussion threads into the blog posts so that they won’t be lost: My discussions with lime_vortep about the Hobbit’s art direction, costume and makeup can be found here. My discussions with anonymous about visual effects for Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes can be found here. My discussion with Anonymous about Colin Farrell in At Swim Two Birds can be found here.

Feel free to tell me if you like the new look!
Hi! Like the new look.
ReplyDeleteHey, Colin Farrell is back on board with At Swim-Two-Birds, and it is planned to be released in 2013, so, definitely, put Colin Farrell back under whatever Oscars that would fall under. I would like to see him at least nominated for something before then, but I'm not sure what he's doing now that would get him a nomination. Fingers crossed, though!
And, are you serious about Your Voice in My Head? I predict that film will not even be made. Everyone in H'Wood adores Colin Farrell, and I doubt they'll want anything to do with this woman's skewering of him.
Thanks Mercy!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that Colin is back on this project. I'll add him back the next time I do the 86th Oscar predictions (2013-2014).
I only recently learned that YVIMY was written by a disgruntled ex. But when I last did that set of predictions (in April), IMDB was only listing 12 films coming out that year, and all I had known about the film was the title and the synopsis that read "A self-destructive writer struggles with her personal issues and embarks on the difficult road to recovery." Now that I've learned more about the backstory, and now that there are more films listed as coming out that year (66 instead of 12), I'll definitely be moving that down.
Thanks again for checking out my blog, and I'm glad you like the new look!
When will you update your 85-th Oscars?
ReplyDeletePS: Love the new look.
Thanks lime_vortep!
ReplyDeleteNow that I've done some updates to the look of the site, my next goal is to update my predictions for future years. I'm thinking that I'll leave the current year (84th) alone for the moment, at least until things go into high gear (which I understand happens in September). Between now and then, my goal is to update all of the other years (85th through 89th). I'm not sure which order just yet. It depends on the amount of time I have and the research that I'm able to do.
But SOON, I hope...
