Pictured: Former Senator Christopher Dodd may not seem like a movie insider, but he is an Oscar voter, as the result of being Chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association Of America (MPAA), the group that rates films G, PG, PG-13, R or NC-17. Not to worry though, the Academy membership also includes Kirby Dick, the director of This Film Is Not Yet Rated, a documentary that highlights the disparities and discrimination of the film rating board!

As a reminder, Bold font is for confirmed AMPAS members that we are able to document conclusively. Standard font is for confirmed invitees, most of whom presumably accept. Italic font is for those believed to be members, but whose status has not been verified. Read why we are so cautious HERE.

I will be adding more pictures, as well as credits, awards, and of course new names as the project proceeds. And don’t forget to send me recommendations of Oscar voters I may have missed!

  1. Bo Derek? That woman wouldn't know a good movie if it slept in bed with her!

    1. I have never actually seen any of her films, but IMDB says that she won the Golden Globe in 1980 for best new female star of the year... only to follow it up with a string of Razzie awards!

On the one hand, those Razzies might make an argument against admitting new stars into the Academy too early, even if they are working with other big names. On the other hand, she is still working in the industry (in both film & TV), and presumably helped to sell a few tickets back in the day!
