86th Oscar Lead Actress Updates (2013-2014 Awards Season) (10/30/2013)


Former nominees and winners are currently the frontrunners for the Lead Actress race, but there are several newcomers just below the surface. Can any of them break through for a nomination? The lead actor category usually sticks with the largest names, and this year may be no exception. WIth stars like Robert Redford, Tom Hanks and Bruce Dern in the mix, the youngsters are probably just going to have to wait. 86th Oscar Best Picture Updates (2013-2014 Awards Season) (10/16/13)

I’ve been away from the Oscar game for a while, but instead of crying over spilled milk, let’s see if I can get back on track. More categories will be coming over the next few weeks, but Best Picture seems like a good place to start again.

As luck would have it, I saw two of my top five films over the past two weekends (Gravity and Captain Phillips), and my predicted winner is opening this weekend in the form of Steve McQueen’s Twelve Years A Slave. You know that I’ll be first in line!
