Now that the Golden Globe nominations are out, it’s about time for me to update some Oscar predictions! I’m a little out of practice, but I’ll try to get through all the categories before the nominations on January 15th.
In the best picture race, I feel fairly confident in the top five spaces, but beyond that it gets a little messy. Will the technical branches rally to the support of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar? Does the World War II generation have enough votes to pull in Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken? Will the love for Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash extend beyond the guaranteed nod for J.K. Simmons?
