I don’t normally do posts for every film critic and film festival award, but this one is special, because it has connections to this blog.
A consistent reader of this blog, lime_vortep of kino-mania.com and several other Bulgarian film bloggers and film makers have an annual award that they give, and this year I was extremely honored that they invited me to serve as a guest member of the judging committee!
One interesting aspect of these awards is that they cover parts of 2010 and parts of 2011. Interestingly, the voters listed last year’s winners in most of the major Oscar categories, with Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Transformers: Dark Of The Moon picking up a significant number of the technical awards. Which goes to confirm what most of us already know about Hollywood’s awards versus blockbuster seasons.
