For Your Consideration: The 2012 LAMMY Awards

It is that time of year when the film bloggers over at The LAMB give out their annual LAMMY Awards. I had planned to hire Harvey Weinstein to run my campaign this year, but he was too busy fighting with the MPAA over the rating for Bully, so I’m going to go it alone this year and see how far I get.

Since I normally rate films according to their likelihood of gaining a win or nomination, I thought I would do a twist on that in my For Your Consideration poster, listing the categories where I have the best chance (and where your vote can do the most good!)

To learn more about the LAMMY awards, visit the introductory post. If you’re ready to vote for me right now, you can go directly to the polls HERE. (Note: Just as with the Academy, you must be an existing member of The LAMB to vote.)

  1. You put a lot of work into this site, and it's a great concept one too. I would be proud to give you a vote and a nomination, but not in that order

    1. Yeah, I am always underestimating how funny I am, so I probably should have listed that higher. Hahaha!

Seriously, though, I would be honored to have your vote in any of these categories that feels right to you.

I just saw that you posted an FYC on the forums, so I'll be checking you out with an eye toward those categories too!

    1. Thanks! That's what I like to hear: Votes already in the bank! Hahaha.

I know that you said that you don't like the shameless nature of asking for awards, but I wish you would do some campaigning of your own, as I think your blog is fantastic and deserves to be listed in multiple categories as well. At the very least, know that I'll be voting for you too!

  3. Good luck NTEMP! I know you have the most extensive Oscar coverage out there so I seriously think you should be in the running for Best Festival coverage among others :)

    1. Thanks Castor. I have a suspicion that Anomalous Material will make an appearance in more than a few categories of my ballot, as will some of your contributors' individual sites.

  4. You'll definitely be getting my vote in a few categories.

    1. Thanks Dave. Are there particular categories that you are campaigning for?

  5. Considering I come to your blog to help make some of my own Oscar predictions, you have my vote in multiple categories. I would not be surprised if you end up being the Lammys' version of The Artist...or at very least Hugo.

    1. Thanks Ryan. I'd be cool with playing the role of either The Artist or Hugo, but if I don't then I am totally going to claim that I'm either Shame or Drive, and that the voters simply couldn't handle me. LOL!

I've got you down for Awards as well. Any other categories that you are competing in? Are you still doing your podcast?

    2. Wow thanks. I don't think I have any chance in any other category besides Awards, but thank you for the vote. I stopped doing the podcast this past winter. I just got too busy and that got the short-end.

    3. I completely understand about things getting dropped. There are so many new projects I want to start with my blog, but I have to remind myself that if I do too many things, I'll just end up dumping some of them, so I might as well decide which are best early on.

  6. You would be a very deserving winner! Got some of my votes!

    1. Thanks Pete! Are you throwing your hat into any of the races yourself?

    2. It's probably a bit late but I might try and figure out how to get my blog in there!

    3. Cool. I've got you on my list of potential nominees for Best New Lamb (since I can't vote for myself). You're not too late for me as that will be one of the last categories I decide on, after I've gotten a chance to check everyone out.

  7. I'm still very new to everything going on at the LAMB but this sounds awesome! I need to go over and do some nominating!

    1. It's a lot of fun Jaina, and a lot of people that you know are campaigning this year. Please do consider me, and also let me know if there are any categories that you are interested in for yourself!
