Winter may be awards season for the films that we love, but Spring seems to be the season of awards for the film blogs that we love.
Today I received the happy news that I was named the Large Association Of Movie Blogs’ LAMB Of The Month for March. I am honored to join the ranks of past winners Bonjour Tristesse and The Vern’s Videovangaurd, and want to thank our Shepherd Joel Burman of Deny Everything for picking me. I would also like to congratulate Ryan at The Matinee for being named the Podcast Episode Of The Month.
And now I need your help, dear readers. We all know that these “early precursor awards” only matter if you can sustain the buzz, and I don’t want to have to resort to negative advertising as the season drags on. (Although I will if I have to!)
So, take a moment to click this link to The Lamb, which will help my site stay high on the LAMBoard. Even better, if you have a movie blog that is more than 3 months old and haven’t joined the association, you can Join The LAMB now, and be sure to tell them that I sent you!
.
Congrats on your continued sucsess NTEMP.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWay to go on the LAMB! I really need to educate myself more on it. I've seen a lot of my film blogging friends on that site.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's a really nice group of people, and they do some great blog-a-thons. They also have a lot of really helpful tips in the forums sections.
DeleteCongrats.
ReplyDeleteYou're a very good LAMB member: active and kind.
Looking forward to Awards season I see.
Thank you Sam! I am actually really thankful for the community, and have learned a lot about blogging--even if I haven't been able to implement it all yet.
DeleteAnd yes, I'm thinking of hiring Harvey Weinstein to run my Lammy Awards campaign. Hahaha!
Well deserved, my friend. Love everything about Never Too Early Movie Predictions.
ReplyDeleteThank you Alex!
DeleteLove the blatant self promotion on this post. Hahahah
ReplyDeleteThanks again for picking me Joel! I tend to be a perfectionist and am quick to criticize myself, so the self-promotion is something that I'm trying to force myself to do more often!
DeleteHuge congrats! Massively deserved :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Jaina!
DeleteGood Job!
ReplyDeleteI would now like to take this time to point out that there's this French movie called The Intouchables that is getting a ton of buzz. It is supposed to be released in May. You think maybe it is a possible contender?
Thanks!
DeleteI have definitely heard good things about The Intouchables, and particularly the performance of Omar Sy. I suspect that I will add him to my actors list in the next round, but probably somewhere in the bottom half of my top 50, given that it is really hard of films in foreign languages to score Oscar nominations.
In terms of the foreign language category itself, what concerns me is that while it was nominated for many Cesar awards, it only won the one for Sy. (Granted, it was up against The Artist). So I'm thinking that something else will show up and take its place (maybe from Cannes?).
Although, I would say that it would be absolutely wonderful to have an Oscar film show up here in May, instead of a year later like they usually do in the foreign language category. But I'm thinking that if they were really going to make a push for it they would release it closer to the awards season.
Congrats David! So well-deserved. I'm afraid I haven't been too active in LAMB, but you certainly are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ruth! I like it a lot, and have found many excellent blogs as the result of it--Including Yours!
DeleteCongrats on being named LAMB of the month. You clearly put a lot of effort into your blog, so well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you Chris!
DeleteCongrats on being LAMB of The Month :) Deserving indeed. Great accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteThank you Andina! Hoping I can stick around long enough to see more anniversaries like you just had.
DeleteCongrats on the award! I love the ambition of your Oscars project.
ReplyDeleteThanks Eric! It will take me a while to complete, but I think it will be worth it in the end.
