And at the same time know that all of us are fans of some actors, films, genres, etc., and that always influences our predictions. (The same can be said of the academy voters themselves, of course!) I try to read as many sites and sources as possible to help weed out the obvious fan-focused predictions. And incontention.com is one of my favorites too.

Thanks again for reading my blog, and keep coming back!NeverTooEarlyMPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06971628452385566511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1361012654645694959.post-27791574565318331212011-07-04T13:36:06.517-07:002011-07-04T13:36:06.517-07:00I enjoy your blog. I have not seen Drive, but this review makes me want to see it and this reviewer does think Brooks should be in the top five!

http://incontention.com/2011/05/22/review-drive/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1361012654645694959.post-70696246212822664412011-07-03T06:43:08.630-07:002011-07-03T06:43:08.630-07:00Thanks for these great tips on Brooks and Plummer....Thanks for these great tips on Brooks and Plummer.

I've read some good reviews on Brooks, which is why I put him so high on the list (#17). But none of the reviews were specifically talking about the Oscar race, so it's good to hear from someone who has actually seen Drive and thinks he has the momentum to carry through to February.

I'm seeing Beginners later today and can't wait to see how Plummer does. The part certainly seems baity and I agree completely that he is overdue.

Thanks to both of you for checking out my blog.NeverTooEarlyMPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06971628452385566511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1361012654645694959.post-80755860560071749642011-07-03T01:01:46.499-07:002011-07-03T01:01:46.499-07:00At 83 years old, Christopher Plummer is at the top...At 83 years old, Christopher Plummer is at the top of his game. Coming off his only Oscar nomination (for 2009’s The Last Station), Plummer does absolute wonders in Beginners. As Hal, he gives many fascinating traits to a man who so desperately loves to live, but understands that his time is limited. I saw Beginners and I saw Drive. Of those two I would have to saw Albert Brooks could win the award. I think he is the frontrunner until I see Kenneth Branagh.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
